Calm Evening | Rhododendron

Shooting outdoors on an overcast day provides beautiful lighting, though sometimes it feels a little too even.

I love to see parts of a background thrown out of focus and into shadows, so perhaps it’s time to start experimenting more with photography.  Shadows can be added and edges can be blurred in Photoshop, but the fun is doing these alterations before the shutter is pressed.

Perhaps some playing around with focal lengths, apertures, and external spot-lighting?  Or maybe it’d be best to look at some tutorials first…
