Adventures in the kitchen don’t always go as expected. Sometimes we’re trying to make cookies, and end up with a crumbly mess.
These chocolate-covered oats apparently weren’t destined to be a batch of the classic, no-bake chocolate-oatmeal-peanut butter cookies. Left with a pot of sugary crumbles, it seemed like a great time to try a layer dessert in a jar, or at least a layer snack.
Also an opportunity to practice food styling and photography. Even with a polarizing filter and holding paper to diffuse the light, the pesky reflections on the jar won this round.
Still lots of crumbles left. Perhaps I’ll try making some peanut-butter balls…
