Friendship Gate | Chinatown

Street photography of Chinatown, Philadelphia

The Friendship Gate in Chinatown, Philadelphia.  Just a few streets away from a regular route through Center City, it’s a great reminder to push past our usual boundaries once in a while.

Let’s enjoy the beauty we see every day, but not forget to explore to see something new.

Texture is such a pleasure to admire and photograph, especially when such texture is created by chipped paint and weathered wood.

Let’s keep our eyes open for the beauty around us, and remember that beauty only improves with age.

This beautiful balcony sits above a hair salon in Chinatown, Philadelphia.

Red and gold play off each other beautifully, especially when different materials are involved like the metal and brickwork.

Let’s keep our eyes open during our travels, whether around our own neighborhood or someplace new.

Alleys definitely have their own unique beauty.  There is so much texture to admire, as well as patterns, especially if there’s brickwork or a fire escape.

Whether we’re walking along the city’s main street or wandering the side roads, let’s keep our eyes open to the unique beauty around us.  There are plenty of views to admire during our travels.

Earlier this month I was fortunate enough to finally visit the Chinatown in Philadelphia with family.  It’s a lovely area with some very unique and beautiful architecture sprinkled about.

Time should be taken to appreciate all the details!

There are plenty of restaurants in addition to Joy Tsin Lau, as well as shops and markets to explore.

Hopefully when we visit new places local and abroad, we have a bit of pocket money to try the food.
