We must all move forward with our heads held high, and shed what holds us back.

We are in charge of our futures, so we must wage war and fight for what’s ours.

And so it begins…..

Fantasy portrait of a Queen before the trouble begins.

Peace can end at a moment’s notice.

It shouldn’t be taken for granted….

New shoots happening in the new photography studio!  During the move, so many props and costumes were donated to charity to inspire other artists and collectors.

What remains is still a photographer’s dream!

More editorials to come, what would you like to see?

Open Book

Photographed in the same session as The Sword, this is a good example of variety put in practice.

Going into the studio, this was the original concept I wanted to shoot.  The Sword was added in for variety in case this image didn’t come out, and it ended up being my favorite shot instead!

Of course, there were several other variations and additions, but these two are the only ones that made it to the final pass!

Let’s remember to try new things, add variations and extra concepts into the shoot as a fallback, and remember that not every image needs to make it off the ‘cutting room floor’!

We all have our comfort zones, and we should definitely work on pushing past them this year!

Studio lighting, self-portraits, and landscape photography have become well-known comfort zones.

And although I still want to improve and expand in these areas, photographing others in the great outdoors is a huge leap I’ve been dying to take!

We can tell what we need to work on by asking ourselves a simple question:

What do I want to do, but haven’t because I’m scared?

  • Write it down.
  • Come up with a short term plan to do this activity (or something comparable).
  • DO IT!

We all have things we dream of doing, and because we have so much invested in the dream, we may have a lot of fear attached to even trying.

What if I decide to take that trip to Iceland, but it turns out I can’t afford it?

What if I finally start my photography business but can’t make any money?

What if I try, but fail?

Fail anyway.

Success is the result of a lot of trial, error, and failure.  We can’t improve if we’re not willing to be a beginner.

We have to try.

So let’s get excited about our dreams and goals, big or small, and start working towards them.

Let’s push past our comfort zones, learn, grow, and create something amazing!

Much Peace and Keep Roamin’

Dragon Age: Inquisition WIP

Dragon Age Inquisition Reborn Replica WIP

Cosplay has always been a recurring interest of mine, with prop-making and set-dressing adding to the mix these past few years.

Dragon Age: Inquisition has been a recent love of mine, and has rekindled interest in many things.  Although interest may pass before anything is completed, I’ve been working to put together some cosplay photoshoots.

Still a work in progress, I’m trying to replicate a prop from the game with some on-hand poster-board and craft paints.

We’ll see where this goes…
