Journey of Heroes | Mountain Pass

Life is often far from fantasy, but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t take every opportunity to be our own hero.

We must take the initiative to live the life we want to live, to create a present and future that makes us feel alive.

Whether that means long road trips and photographing sunsets, or building a family with those you love, or anything and everything in between…it’s our responsibility to make it happen.

Let’s listen to our souls and head in the direction our hearts are trying to take us.  Let’s be our own heroes.

Warm Glow | Aspen Forest

Happiness comes and goes, as does most everything in life.  But that doesn’t mean we should wait around in the shadows waiting for it to return.

Even when we don’t feel like it, let’s dedicate ourselves to injecting our life with what makes us happy.  Let’s go for a short walk, read the next chapter of our latest library book, sit in the warm glow of the sun.

Whether simple or complex, let’s take the time to sprinkle these moments of happiness into our days.

Let’s remember that happiness is a journey, not a destination.  Sometimes the trail gets lost, and sometimes it’s shrouded in darkness.

All that matters is that we keep moving forward.

Start Now | Into the Storm

Life it too short to wait for things to be ‘perfect’ before starting something.

Let’s not wait for a steady job that’ll give us vacation time to take a vacation.  Let’s use that one day off this week to go somewhere, whether just in town or some hours’ drive away.

Let’s not wait to have the highest quality supplies to start creating, but start working with what we have now.

Let’s not wait for certain circumstances to start living the life we want.  The life we dream of isn’t going to just happen, it’s something we have to work toward little by little, day by day.

So let’s stop waiting for the life we want, and start building it right now.

What do you want to do?  What do you dream of?  What small step can you make today to start living it?

Whatever it is, let’s start moving forward and making it happen!

Cripple Creek & Victor Mine

The side of an active mine that sits snuggly between the towns of Cripple Creek and Victor, for which it’s named.

It’s easily visible as you drive between towns, though the mine is much bigger than it seems.

Let’s see the beauty in the ugly.

Pikes Peak | Road Trip

Today was the first real road trip in what feels like forever, and it was just what was needed!

Fresh mountain air, bright sunlight, and tons of gorgeous new views to take in was a wonderful treat!

It was great to see Pikes Peak from a different perspective, and I can’t wait to get back up in the mountains to take advantage of dusk light and extra time to get out of the car!  Perhaps this Fall?

Let’s enjoy our everyday views, but remember to get out and travel once in a while, if only for a few hours.
