Golden Forest

A gorgeous view in an aspen forest, photographed in the Colorado mountains last Autumn!

I frequently miss the vivid colors of Pennsylvania, but there’s no comparison to Colorado in the golden season!

When we find ourselves missing home, let’s go out and explore, and see what we can find to soothe our souls.  Any location has gorgeous views, we just have to get out and find them!

Autumn Witch | Portrait

Model: Yasae

A fantasy inspired portrait out in nature, using the natural backdrop and some thrifted tulle for a mysterious, witchy feel!

This ‘cowl’ is actually a handmade petticoat tied around the model’s shoulders.

Props and costumes can be used in many ways, so let’s not get stuck only using items for their intended purpose!

Into the New Year!

Happy New Year!

One thing we can always count on in life is change, so let’s look back at all we’ve seen evolve over the past year in the world, in our lives, and in ourselves, and welcome all that’s in store for the new year!

Let’s spend more time in nature, with friends, laughing, learning, growing, exploring, and making the best adventure out of life that we can!

To our continued journey of bettering ourselves, and finding the beauty in life and our imaginations~!

Mountain Ranch | Self-Care

This ranch-style gate was photographed this Fall as we drove through the Colorado mountains.

Getting away can be incredibly healing and calming.

Take a train or car ride somewhere new, enjoy nature, and spend time out in the open air with no obligations or time restraints.

It’s amazing how long days seem when we’re out in the world with only nature and our thoughts for company.

Let’s get out to enjoy some quiet solitude and recharge, whether we take frequent hikes in local hills or long excursions through the mountains.

We’ll be much better for it!

Misty Autumn Forest | Resistance

Resistance can have a big impact on our lives.

It keeps us in a rut, automatically following the same well-worn paths we’ve been walking for so long.

When ever we want to change for the better (which is hopefully often!), resistance is there to meet us.

Do we let it stop us?

Realistically…it’s at least going to put up a fight.  And that’s our cue to acknowledge our resistance to change, and push forward anyway.

The first hurdles are always the hardest.  We need to jump over them anyway.  We’ll slip, we’ll fall back into our old routine, but each time we need to get back up and move forward.

Habits take time to dismantle and recreate, but it can be done!

How do you want to change yourself for the better?  What goals are you working on, and what new habits are you trying to instill?  How do you overcome resistance?

Let’s keep our goals and values in mind, and keep moving forward!

Let’s make the time to get outside and enjoy the beautiful views, if only for a little while.

Through | Manitou Cliff Dwellings

Photography of a path reminiscent of a fairytale

Tranquility can seem immensely difficult to find and enjoy, but we should remember it’s actually quite simple.

Step outside. Get some fresh air. Enjoy a cup of tea. Watch the clouds.

If only for a moment.

But let’s remember to be present and really enjoy it.  Let’s engage all our senses, center ourselves, and feel gratitude for the moment.

No matter how busy life seems to get, let’s take a deep breath, soak up the present, and make tranquil moments for ourselves to recharge.
