Home Across the Valley

Cozy-looking homes, whether a house on a farm, a downtown apartment, or a brick hideout in the mountains, always inspire hope for having a home of my own one day.

And this home overlooking a valley and an exceptionally gorgeous rock formation is no exception!

Heading down the highway through the mountains of Colorado, you’re guaranteed to see not only some gorgeous scenery, but some comfy-looking homes!

Let’s keep our eyes open for what inspires us, both visually and in regards to our life goals.

Summer Memories

Summer is almost here, but let’s remember to enjoy the beauty and lovely weather of Spring!

Let’s keep our eyes open, breathe the fresh crisp air, and try to survive allergy season!

Sunset Ridge

Gorgeous views don’t always require travel to distant locals or making long treks.  Sometimes they’re just off the road.

Let’s get out and enjoy the fresh air, and discover what beautiful views we can find nearby.  We can’t all live in Ireland, but that doesn’t mean we can’t find landscapes to take our breath away~

Calm Mountainside

Landscape photography of golden grass and silhouettes of trees.

Apologies for the late post!  At least having photos ready to go, if not scheduling blog posts ahead of time, would evidently be helpful when trying to juggle projects.

Another shot of the serene mountainside of Blodgett Peak.  In addition to the sun being less harsh, it’s clear that around sunrise and sunset may be the most picturesque times to hike and enjoy the natural beauty around us.

Lighting that’s more even and diffused is often touted as the best light for photography, but there’s definitely some gorgeous textures and a lovely glow created by strong side lighting, especially when it comes to brush!

Let’s enjoy the beauty around us, and make time to admire nature at its most beautiful.

Calm Solitude

Solitude is one of the best ways to get ready for or recover from the day.  It gives us time to think, relax, and recharge.

It can come in the form of reading a book, meditating, enjoying music, hiking, or engaging in a hobby.  The list goes on.

I highly recommend enjoying solitude often, whether from an hour to several.  Let’s take time to quiet our minds, reflect, and be mindful of the present moment.

Leo Babauta of Zen Habits has a good article on solitude that I recommend reading!

Grass Red Barn

This small red barn sits atop a hillside before the Rocky Mountains.  Surrounded by brush and sunflowers, all turning brown as we head further into Fall!

Colorado Plains

Colorado Plains

Back from our quick trip to Denver, this beautiful expanse of grassland was shot as we headed down the interstate.  Photographs are probably best taken when you’re standing still, not flying at over 70 mph, but it’s hardly safe to pull over on the side of such a road.

When we’re out an about, it’s always a bonus to have someone else drive as we take in the scenery with our camera without having to stop the car.
