Forest Trail

When nature is a great love, make a point to get out and enjoy it!

Take the time to get out on hikes, explore trails, climb mountains, breathe fresh air, really enjoy it!

Even if we don’t have time to make it to the mountains every week, let’s commit to getting outside and enjoying whatever nature we can.

Tranquil | Mountain Stream

This small stream waterfall was photographed on a hike last summer, during a trek that led to my first (albeit small) summit.

A great reminder to take the time for both the small and larger things in life that make us happy and bring us back to ourselves.

We are our own greatest investment, and when we are at our best, we’re able to be our best for others.

Whether it’s climbing a mountain with a camera in tow, or snuggling on the couch with a good book, let’s make the time for the things that bring us back to tranquility and build us up.

On occasion, let’s take the time to go through our old files and see what we find worth experimenting with.

Sometimes we’ll find a gem, sometimes not, and it’s perfectly okay if we’re not feeling a particular image.

We can always delete it or save it for later!

Patch of Light | Devil’s Playground Trail

Walking along this forested trail on Pikes Peak definitely brought back memories of the forests in Pennsylvania.

This gorgeous patch of light was captured just off the Devil’s Playground trail, a hiking path up the western side of the mountain.

This trail definitely warrants a return visit, perhaps with the goal of getting to the summit, or at least the tree-line!

Let’s keep exploring.

Golden Path | Stand Tall

It’s important to be aware of not only how we treat others, but how we treat ourselves.

Often we’ll notice that we treat and view others as more important, competent, skilled, etc, than ourselves.  This can become immensely obvious when we find ourselves rejecting praise, be it from friends, coworkers, or bosses.

It’s so important that we don’t sell ourselves short.  If we don’t believe in ourselves, others will start to wonder why they should believe in us.

Let’s treat ourselves with kindness, put effort into believing in ourselves, hold our heads high, and walk tall.

Time away and outside is incredibly healing.

Even a short walk, whether around a city block or through a park, is one of the best ways to lift our mood.

Breathe the fresh air, enjoy the surroundings, gaze up at the sky.  It’s a great way to push ‘pause’ on life, reconnect with what’s really important to us, and remember how expansive the world is.

Whether we head out alone or with a companion, let’s try to spend more time outside, if only for a short time.

Explore | Park Trails

Let’s get out and explore, and find out first hand what parks, trails, and gorgeous views are open to us.  Whether it’s through a park with extensive trails or a footpath along the road, let’s get hiking and see what beautiful views await.

The stone and dirt underfoot as we trail through wild grass or roadside weeds will do us good!
