Focus

Perspective Gold LeafPerspective

Things look very different depending what we focus on.  Nothing in life is perfect.  Things won’t always unfold the way we want.  Obstacles and hardship can come out of nowhere and knock us down.

Things aren’t perfect, nor do they need to be for us to have a positive outlook and be happy.  How we feel, what we see, and how we act in the present depends on what we focus on.

We can choose to focus on the negative, walk about like a zombie, and let frustration and misery fester and grow, OR, we can focus on the positive.  We can set our sights on our hopes for the future, and warm our hearts with gratitude.

Keeping a positive mindset doesn’t mean ignoring hardships and obstacles, it means not focusing on them.  If we’re weighted down by misery and pessimism, we probably aren’t going to be very affective at moving forward and making positive changes.  When we’re miserable, we may not even try.

Focusing on the positive, remaining grateful for the good things we have gives us the hope and momentum to keep pushing forward and act constructively.

Let’s keep a smile on our face, gratitude and hope in our hearts, and keep moving forward. Let’s focus on the good and continue to create positive change.

And so we’ve come to the end of another month, and soon, another year.  It’s important to remember that the small moments of every day are what make up our lives.

Each moment spent loving, creating, sharing, and working towards a goal will blend with another to create the greater sum of our life.

Let’s dedicate more moments to love, craft, gratitude, progress, and improvement.  Let’s keep moving forward, one small step at a time.

Best Wishes, Much Peace and Keep Roamin’

I’m terribly excited to share that the new Roman Leaf site is up and running!

You can find photography and excerpts from the most recent posts there, though the blog will continue to update and be found in full here!

There are still some things in the works, and there is definitely a lot to fix back here on the blog…  There are many a broken link that need to be fixed here, and I’m hoping to get to them soon!

I deffinitely hope you’ll check out and enjoy the new site!

Peaceful Green Swirled Vine

Spring Vine

Spring Vine

Greens out here in Pennsylvania are incredibly plentiful and vivid, as are yellows and every other color in nature.

We’ll hopefully be returning to the midwest soon, and the color here is definitely something we’ll miss and never forget.

Hopefully we’ll rediscover and appreciate the beauty the different landscape has to offer.  The sunrises, sunsets, and low clouds over the mountains are definitely something worth looking forward to!

Battered Leaf

Bleached Skeleton Leaf

Even when fall is long gone and winter is coming to a close, some leaves still cling to their old branches.  I love the beautiful texture of sun-bleached leaves, and their veins are reminiscent of fish bones.

There’s beauty in age.

Last Ice

Winter Leaves and Ice

Photographing nature covered in snow and ice has been fun, but hopefully this will be the last of the winter weather.

Spring weather is just around the corner, and it’s difficult to decide what I’m most looking forward to: fresh air, greenery, flowers, long walks, watching the clouds, or making any excuse to step outside!

What can’t you wait for this Spring?
