Can we all take a moment to appreciate the glory and beauty that is studio photography.  That white umbrella just may be one of my best tools in the studio for creating dark, glowing, stunning photographs!

With an alternative flair, hopefully!

What’s your favorite tool in the studio?

Eve and Her Light | Fine Art Portrait

Eve and Her Knowledge.

Do you dare to look into the light and learn what has been hidden in darkness?

The truth may hurt.

It’s been a while, and it’s good to be back in the studio!

When life happens, we need to still make time for the things that are important to us, even when we don’t necessarily have the energy.

Especially when we’re killing ourselves at our 9-5 which has recently turned into a 9-9, sometimes we need to turn down the overtime and instead curl up with a good book, and make time to play with our camera.

How do you ensure to set time aside?  How do you get the ball rolling?

Her Struggles | Dark Portrait

Mental health is tricky.  It’s not an issue everyone struggles with, but those of us who do can truly understand the uphill battle it can feel like.

It’s a struggle to not know how to improve our lives, and it’s even more frustrating when so much research has been done but we still struggle to apply our findings and see results.

Sometimes we need outside help, and it’s important that we seek it out.  Talk to friends, family, a doctor.

Just don’t hide away behind books, trying to figure it out alone.

White Lace Aristocrat | Self Portrait

Thrift stores are great for finding complete costumes, as well as odds and ends that can be built upon and embellished.  Like random bits of lace that can be turned into a choker and a belt.

The more costumes and props we can find that can be reused, altered, and built upon, the fewer costumes and like we’ll have to own, and the cleaner and more spacious our studios will be!

What costumes do you love to collect?

These Books | Fantasy Portrait

A little self love can go a long way in dealing with life’s ups and downs.  So what matters to you?  What would you like to spend more time doing?  What activities bring you back to yourself?

Be it spirituality, creativity, nature, time with family, or anything else, let’s spend more time enjoying the things that make us feel whole.

Lionheart | Burn With Love

It’s easier said than done, but is still a wonderful practice.  And this practice is to let yourself burn up with love.

Moments can be brief, longer if we’re lucky, but let’s let ourselves burn with love for ourselves and others.  Let’s feel joy in the moment and wish well to ourselves and others, and feel gratitude for what we do have.

Again, easier said than done.  But there’s no denying that there’s a special magic that happens when let ourselves glow with love and gratitude.

How do you work to maintain your inner peace?
