Iron Heart

The ironwork heart in this red framed window grate is terribly charming, but I’m a sucker for reds, creams, and textured walls!

This lovely building sits beside a tattoo shop and gallery, and across from the historic church in Old Colorado City.  Old Colorado City is full of really awesome buildings, basically!

Beautiful and charming details abound, so let’s open our eyes to the world around us!

The Loft

While poking around Old Colorado City, this beautiful scene of a music venue’s alley door caught my attention.  I love the whimsical lights along the usual alley backdrop, as well as the sign posted on the door!

Let’s remember that there’s so much to admire beyond where we’re used to traveling, so let’s explore!

This cozy home sits in the historical Old Colorado City.  Definitely a favorite part of the city, as it boasts plenty of gorgeous architecture, restaurants, shops, and old homes.

Red doors are a favorite, especially when contrasting with textured white walls.  The metal mailbox and tub add to the charm and cozy feel of this quiet porch.

The Friendship Gate in Chinatown, Philadelphia.  Just a few streets away from a regular route through Center City, it’s a great reminder to push past our usual boundaries once in a while.

Let’s enjoy the beauty we see every day, but not forget to explore to see something new.

Cozy Side Street

Manitou Springs in Colorado is such a favorite of mine to explore.  The busiest area has streets lined with beautiful shops and eateries, as well as gorgeous old homes.

This cozy side street in particular caught my eye for the lovely colors, textures, and details throughout.  Street photography isn’t something I have much experience with, but it wasn’t as nerve-wracking as expected.

Definitely a town worth visiting and exploring on foot if you’re ever in Colorado.

Chocolate Shop

Streep photograph of a chocolate shop

This lovely chocolate shop in Pennsylvania captured my eye and imagination for years.  Not only due to a big love for sugar and all things sweet, but because the very beautiful setup was reminiscent of the sweet shops in Harry Potter.  To me, at least.

No matter how many times it was passed over the years, I never had the courage to go in, buy some dessert, and ask to take some photos around the shop.

Those of us that are terribly shy and awkward are many, though hopefully we continue to push ourselves out of our shells when we really want to.

Let’s not let our shyness hold us back from what we really want, be it a big chocolate cookie, or permission to go nuts with our camera in an inspiring location.

Texture is such a pleasure to admire and photograph, especially when such texture is created by chipped paint and weathered wood.

Let’s keep our eyes open for the beauty around us, and remember that beauty only improves with age.
